Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904) - Russian writer and playwright, known throughout the world. The future writer was born in Taganrog in a merchant family and, from an early age, helped his father in his shop. In 1884 A.P. Chekhov graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University and engaged in medical practice. He began to write back in his student years - in 1880, his story and humores were printed in the magazine Dragonfly. Since then, he constantly wrote short humorous stories under various pseudonyms, the most popular of which was Antosha Chekhonte. In 1890 A.P. Chekhov went to Sakhalin, who was considered the island of the royal hard labor and links to study the history and life of convicts. In 1896, the writer was finishing work on his first play “Uncle Vanya”, who made a coup in the dramaturgy of that time. In total, for 25 years of work A.P. Chekhov created more than 300 different works, many of which have become a classic of world literature.
In the stories of A.P. Chekhov almost never happens something significant. The author pays particular attention to details, speech, description of the life of characters and through these detailed descriptions shows us the inner world of heroes, reflects on their destinies. At the same time, the writer never imposes his point of view to readers. Chekhov’s humor is merciless - he breaks masks with carefully hidden by the characters of hypocrisy, meanness, greed, vulgarity and servility.
