Ivan Alekseevich Bunin, respectable member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1909), Nobel Prize winner (1933), in the twentieth century continued the traditions of the great Russian literature of the age of nineteenth. The pain for the destroyed patriarchal-holy Russia and the feeling of inevitable tragedy of human existence permeate all the work of Bunin.
