In this documentary book, infantry General Yuri Nikiforovich Danilov explores little -known pages of the First World War: the fighting of Russian expeditionary troops on the Western Front - in France and Macedonia. The annual work in the French archives and the memories of numerous witnesses allowed the author to recreate an almost complete picture of the emergence of Russian expeditionary buildings, their heroic battles and the undeserved distress in which they found themselves as a result of the Bolshevik coup in Russia.
The book was first published in Paris in 1933. The income from its sale entered the fund to build a monument to Russian soldiers in a military cemetery in Shampani
