The fifth, final volume of the collected works of Mikhail Efimovich Zuev-Horde (1900-1967) unites almost all of his stories created in 1925-1937 and not included in previous volumes, as well as selected essays on trips to Central Asia. The book also collected several stories of the 1950s, published after the liberation of the writer from the camps and during the period of residence in the working village of Aktas and Karaganda. As in previous volumes, the book is illustrated exclusively by drawings that accompanied the first publications of works, the work of N. Kochergin, G. Fitingof, V. Golitsyn and others. The book also includes the full version of the story "Yellow Typhoon" and the last chapter of the novel "The Tale of City Novo-Chitege ", which was absent in the journal publication and written after the editors demanded a" more optimistic finale ".
