Sergey Dovlatov is one of the most popular and readable Russian writers of the late twentieth century, and he is "doomed" to remain so for a long time. His works are the same great classic, which, on all its scale, remains simple, entertaining and accessible to any reader, regardless of age, nationality, "well -read" or, in the words of Dovlatov himself, "degree of intellectual pickiness".
