A.P. Platonov (1899-1951) - one of the most distinctive in the style and language of Russian writers of the first half of the 20th century.
The story Pit is a tough satire on the USSR from the time of collectivization, which combines elements of philosophical parables and surrealism.
The thirty-year-old worker Voshchev is fired from the factory because of the growth of weakness in it and thoughtfulness. In an effort to know the truth and find out the structure of the world, it falls into the neighboring city for the construction of the “general -industrial house”, which should become the beginning of the city of the “Happy Future”.
