Prophetic Oleg is a legendary figure in Russian history, and therefore very mysterious. Being either a relative of Rurik, or his governor, he made much more for the formation of the Old Russian state than Rurik. Under Oleg, Kyiv became the capital, his governors and local princes laid the state administration of the nascent country, the independence of which was recognized by many Slavic tribes. But Oleg’s main merit was the conquest of Tsargrad: the Russian merchants received the right of duty -free trade with Byzantium and many other privileges unique for that time. According to one of the legends of the Tale of Bygone Years, the prince was predicted by death from his beloved horse. We all remember the poem by A.S. Pushkin "Song of the Prophet Oleg". The legendary prince is legendary death.
