The name of the famous Russian geologist, geographer, traveler and popularizer of science V.A. Voruchev went down in the history of literature thanks to the novels “Plutonius” (1924) and “Sannikov’s Earth” (1926), in which the fantastic of the plot is balanced by the reliability of the descriptions and the fascination of the events depicted. “A good scientific and fiction novel should be believable,” the writer came from this maxim, telling about the expedition of a group of scientists into the earth"s subsoil, where the unknown country of Plutonium, inhabited by prehistoric creatures, is hidden, and about the journey of several brave seekers of adventure to the mysterious land of Sannikov- The island with a warm climate lying in the heart of the Arctic Ocean.
