“Not a day without a line” (the first full publication is 1965) - a book, which is a kind of diary, a cycle of miniature sketches, united by a plot, easily adequate time and space in their movement. The method of the so -called fragmentary writing allowed the author to feel completely free, to create a new genre - a metaphorical mosaic. The release of the book collected (with the participation of V. B. Shklovsky) from the archives, diaries and notebooks of Yu. K. Olesha after the death of the author was a response for those who tried to understand the reasons for his long -term “literary silence”
