The work of the Gorky writer Nikolai Ivanovich Kochin (1902-1983) is well known to a wide range of readers. One of his most significant works - the novel “Nizhny Novgorod Speech” - was first printed in 1970 in the magazine “Volga”. Pictures of the life of students and the rustic life of the twenties, the formation of a young Soviet intelligentsia formed by immigrants from villages are familiar to the author firsthand. The author himself studied at the Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical Institute from 1920 to 1924
