The publications of Turgenev’s stories under such a "hat still does not exist, but it begs, since the so -called" mysterious" novels by Turgenev occupy a special place in his work and have long attracted attention, although not all of them are well known to the wide reader. The collection includes nine stories and stories written by Turgenev from 1860 to 1882. And dedicated to strange, mystical and kind of paranormal phenomena. The peculiarity of the mysticism of the late Turgenev is that it differs significantly from the fiction of the romantic era, since it is based on rational faith in science and a scientific explanation of supernatural phenomena. The collection opens with two entrance articles - about the cycle of mysterious stories and the perception of science by Turgenev. The texts are equipped with brief comments about the history of the creation of stories and the clarification of some realities
