The fact that Vladimir Gilyarovsky is considered the ancestor of Moscow household art is an essential injustice. Because the first book called "Moscow and Muscovites" appeared 13 years before the birth of the famous "Uncle Gilyai". And she had an incredible success and, excuse me, unsurpassed. Its author was Mikhail Nikolaevich Zagoskin, at that time one of the most popular Russian writers. The level of his fame can be illustrated with the phrase of the writer"s contemporary: "Almost everything that knows literacy in Russia, reads and knows Zagoskin." His comedies successfully went on the stages of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the whole literary world of Russia applauded him, his "fantastic" stories printed the best Russian magazines, and historical novels brought him the reputation of the Russian Walter Scott. Having moved from St. Petersburg to Moscow in 1820, the writer was so bobbing to the hearthrutole that love for her and its inhabitants expressed in four releases ("outputs") of wonderful essays under the general title of Moscow and Muscovites
