Deep dramatic and satirical works of the outstanding Russian writer Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov became an integral part of the world cultural heritage. But a special place in his work is rightfully occupied by the novel "Master and Margarita".
The author worked on the novel for many years, endlessly correcting and rewriting the text. The satirical phantasmagoria about the adventures of the devil and his retinue in the Moscow of the 1930s turned into a deep philosophical parable about fidelity and betrayal, atrocities and retaliations, partings and meetings, death and resurrection. The writer puts each of the heroes with the choice: the master must decide what to do with his work of his whole life, Margarita - with whom she wants to divide fate, Prosecutor Judea Pontius Pilate - choose justice or career, vagabond philosopher Yeshua Ga -Notskri - abandon his beliefs Or be executed. And each act is a contribution to the eternal confrontation of good and evil.
Illustrations for the book are created by the wonderful artist Andrei Harshak. Clear graphic lines unexpectedly blur and slip away, like a mirage, becoming literally a single whole with a cult work of Bulgakov.
