Konstantin Mikhailovich Simonov (1915–1979) - Soviet prose writer, poet and journalist. During the Great Patriotic War, he served as a military correspondent and visited almost all fronts, received the rank of colonel. In 1942, when his piercing poems sounded throughout the country, including the famous “Wait for me, and I will return ...”, common -union glory and folk love came to Simonov. The war became the main event in the life of the writer, as in the life of many people of his generation. And all his work is imbued with the memory of her. The novel “Living and Dead”, one of the most significant works in Russian literature on the Great Patriotic War, includes three books: “Living and Dead” (1959), “Soldiers are not born” (1962) and “Last Summer” (1971)
