In the years of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-5. The employee of the Russian Red Cross Society Evgeny Sergeyevich Botkin saved the lives of soldiers who bravely fought for their countries. Terrible things were accomplished in his eyes, but even in the most difficult moments he did not lose heart and by his example proved that the doctors were the same warriors who would rush into the very baking of the battle in the salvation of life.
In his letters to his wife, Yevgeny Botkin talked about how the Russian army was arranged, about the people who fought at the front line, and, of course, about the doctors who worked with him side by side. Despite the darkness of the war, the author, not wanting to force his beloved woman to worry about him, wrote more about the light, that in the war is stronger than ever, I wanted to live
