The action of the novel “Left now” unfolds in the city of Itil during the decline of the once great and powerful Khazar Kaganate, which existed in the Lower Volga region. Through the intricacies of the fate of the heroes, the real historical events of that time are revealed, up to the defeat of Khazaria by the Russian Prince Svyatoslav in 965.
