For a long time, Vladislav Petrovich Krapivin was considered a writer for children, and some now think so. Such an unfair opinion was criticized because his books were published mainly in children"s publishers (or in children"s editions of regional publishers) Indeed, the main characters in his books are boys, and if so, then where to print him as not in children"s publications. But there is a big difference - to write for children and write about children. In the first case, the circle of readers is narrowed to the children"s audience. In the second - everyone reads the book, independently from age. Arkady Gaidar, “Geklberry Finn”, Kaverinsky “Two Captains” - is this children"s literature or not children? The answer, in my opinion, is obvious. Also Vladislav Krapivin is a writer for all ages. The heroes of the novel-trilogy of the “Island and Captains”, growing up, turning into men, unites the goal-the search for the missing manuscript about the famous Captain Kruzenshtern, the first of the Russian seafood committed around the world. They are also united by a dream. The dream of the sea and ships that leads them in life. Remember the words of the oath in “Two Captains”: “Fight and look, find and not give up”? This is about them, too, about the heroes of Krapivin’s book - boys with an open heart and bright fire in their eyes
