At one time, the first experience of the young writer Alexei Ivanov - the story "Label Pilgrim" - turned out to be unsuccessful. The book, nominated by the Publishing House for the Komsomol Prize, fell into the regional committee of the party, and its set was scattered on the orders of the first secretary of Tolstikov: Do not print this. Then there were years of journalistic work on the Leningrad Radio, in the journal Neva, two collections of stories, the novel “Reference” and ... a pause of more than thirty years, filled with work "into the table". Then five novels were conceived, covering the history of our country from 1918 to 1941, before the blockade of Leningrad. The stories and novels published in the magazines "Zvezda, Aurora, the Friendship of Peoples" were written in the breaks, some were printed in Israel, the USA, etc.
