Laughter is serious. This means that the writer, taking a funny topic, is obliged to approach his work seriously. Otherwise it turns out not funny. Among the domestic masters of laughter, and they are actually a bit (Chekhov, Zoshchenko, Ilf and Petrov Plus still with a dozen names), Arkady Averchenko occupies one of the honorary places.
