The image of Grigory Pechorin is ambiguous, and it is precisely in his denunciation that the essence of the generation of the times of Lermontov is revealed. The course of events is such that in his inconsistency of the image of events, he draws the character of the main character and the whole contrast image of the society of that time. In this work of the writer there is no place for true love, true friendship, because a person who is not able to get along among people will never find peace in generally accepted human unions
