Anatoly Zinovievich worked on illustrations for this work for thirty years. The artist visited the North Caucasus to penetrate the atmosphere of places described in the book and convey it in graphic works, revealing to the reader the complex and diverse inner world of the protagonist.
"Hero of our time" is the largest and most significant work of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, the first socio -psychological novel in Russian literature, whose hero, young officer Grigory Pechorin, became a truly bright representative of his era.
