Gloomy people

A collection of stories "gloomy people" was published in 1890. Anton Pavlovich Chekhov expresses Russian reality in the genre of "psychopathological essays", probably not quite expected by the reader from the usual Chekhov: every hero will seem to be left by the author, and God, and his country. Gloomy people experience fatigue in the darkness of life, physical or mental work. Murders occur here, people laugh and miss. The author devoted this collection to the composer P. Tchaikovsky, which was the beginning of their friendship.
