The Roman "Favorite" is a multifaceted work in which a huge layer of historical reality is raised, a wide canvas of Russia of Russia of the second half of the 18th century is given. The author depicts an era through the prism of the actions of the protagonist - the brightest prince Grigory Alexandrovich Potemkin -Tauride, the favorite of Catherine II, a complex, largely contradictory, but, of course, talented and smart, resolutely invaded state affairs and saw his duty in Russia"s ministry.
