“Farewell to the Mater” is the story of flooding the island for the construction of a fraternal hydroelectric power station. The village of Mother is destined to go to the bottom of the artificially created sea - along with the history of entire generations that lived on this earth before. The old people come to protect their little homeland. They cannot come to terms with the destruction of huts in which they were born and grew up, graves, where their ancestors, native birches and pines are buried. After all, where the tradition has been lost, where the human connection with the past, with the ancestors, with God, is destroyed - is it possible to artificially build a “new life” on the ruins of the real life of the real?
