Tales and stories written by F.M. Dostoevsky in the first half of the 1860s, in many ways, are considered as a turning point in his work, located between the early work of the writer and his mature novel “Pentatex”, thanks to which he went down in the history of world culture. Among other things, a small novel “Player” is placed in the real volume, which discovered the rich tradition of literature on gambling, and “Notes from the underground” - a text recognizing the first work that sets out the philosophy of existentialism.
