"Demons" (1872) is unconditionally a novel-reproduction and novel-prophecy, in which the great writer and thinker indicates the upcoming social disasters. History confirmed the correctness of the writer, and repeatedly. The bloody Russian revolution, the despotic regimes of Hitler and Stalin are terrible and accurate confirmations of the idea that a society awaits in which party morality replaces human.
But, taking the epigraph to the novel the gospel text, Dostoevsky also offers a metaphysical interpretation of the events described. Not only and not so much about "incorrect" social structure is discussed in the novel - the human soul threatens to decompose and death, the souls must first of all be healed. For any theories about the reconstruction of the world can lead to spiritual blindness and madness if the ability to distinguish between good and evil is lost.
