The poem "Dead Souls" during the life of the author was translated into many other languages. She was an incredible success. Nobody before Gogol and after him managed to describe the vices and weaknesses of the Russian person so vividly and sharply, so vividly and truthfully reflect the most important problems for Russia. 160 years have passed, and the poem sounds as just written.
