The writing fate of Yu. M. Nagibin (1920-1994) was extremely successful. Starting to be printed in the late 40s, by the end of the 80s he was already a venerable Soviet writer with all attributes that accompany his status: circulations, fees, trade union privileges, attention of critics and journalists, and fame among readers. But times have changed, the preferences of the public have changed, and the pantheon of honored members of the Writers Union plunged into the shadow. Probably, the same fate was prepared and Nagibin, but at the end of perestroika, he prepared for publication and partly published several works that instantly returned his former popularity. Among them, the novels proposed in the present collection “Daphnis and Chloe of the Era of the Cross of Personality, Voluntarism and Stagnation” and “My Golden Mother -in -law”
