This volume opens a work associated with one of the favorite topics of V.S. Pikul is the theme of the history of the Far East. The novel Cruiser is about the courage of our sailors in the Russian-Japanese War of 1904-1905. He was timed to the author to the tragic anniversary of the Tsushima battle. For the novel Cruiser the writer was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR named after M. Gorky. In the center of the novel Three Okini-san is the dramatic fate of Vladimir Kokovtsev, who has gone from Michman to the Admiral of the Russian Fleet. The writer leads his hero through a series of historical events-the Russian-Japanese and First World War, the February and October Revolutions, shows a difficult political situation in the Far East, where the interests of Russia, England and Japan collided
