Just do not think that humor is “frivolously”. Comorous Chekhov is an equally serious and talented prose writer and playwright than the author of the story "Steppe" or the play "Cherry Garden", which he, by the way, called the comedy. In the "Seagull", the actress Arkadina throws his son, novice playwright: "You and a miserable vaudeville are not able to write!"
