Today to write about the war - about the very, Great Patriotic War, is difficult. Because a lot has already been written and told, because now there are almost no those who remember it. Writing for teenagers is doubly difficult. The modern younger generation seems to be interested in completely different things ... It turns out no! It was the teenagers who gave this book the first place at the All -Russian competition for the best literary work for children and youthful "Books". It was with them that this piercing story found the most lively response. Complex, ambiguous, it sometimes turns the soul inside out, but also makes you feel better and understand what happened.
They will appear before their eyes: they will come to the waist in the mud and snow, the partisans escort the frightened policemen, exchange grenades from the Germans for the famous Lendliz Tuhenka, desperately want to warm up and eat. Here is Dima, who lost his family in the early days of the war, who took up arms and dreams of opening an account with the killed Fritz. Here is a daring Sanych, conspired by a gypsy from a bullet and a photographer, a talker and a fighter from God, afraid of only three things: betrayal, toptuna from Babkin"s fairy tales and a strict girl of Alevtina. And then Kovalet, carefully smoothing hair with a Frank Combus, but a brave and desperate warrior. Or Shurik named a pike, dreaming of finally getting his first gun ...
The twentieth century closed its doors, taking away millions of lives with it that took millions of wars. But through powder smoke, Sanych, Kovalet, and Alka and many others look at us. Who are they? It is hard to say. One thing is clear: they are all a cloud regiment.
"Cloud Regiment" - a modern book about the war and its heroes, a book about fate, about duty and, of course, about the courage to live. The book, written in the canons of domestic youthful prose, but boldly crossed through these canons. The lack of "heroism", simplicity, understatement, the routine of the war put this book on a par with the best works of the twentieth century.
