As a result of the defeat in the world war, the Russian Empire began to rapidly collapse. In 1917-1919, the city of Kharkov was in the center of one of these historical cracks. Over the years, power in the city has changed five times, but that power there is even the very name of the city changed as much. His amazing fate was shared by most Russian cities of this time.
The book was based on reports from the pages of Russian newspapers of various directions. This is a synthesis of an impressive amount of sources in terms of volume, including eyewitnesses. The author did not claim to add the exact picture of that reality according to newspaper articles. He set himself the task of convey not so much the letter of this rebellious time as his spirit, and coped with the task. Not without irony, but often with a share of appropriate humor, he managed to move the reader a century ago, in the heart of the most difficult and rebellious moments of that time
