On the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the ancestors of Russian expressionism, the bright representative of the Silver Age Leonid Nikolaevich Andreev (1871-1919), the volume of his “chosen one” is published. The writer, whose works caused hot disputes among his contemporaries (some called his stories "exemplary vileness", others - for example, Maxim Gorky - admired his talent and the ability to combine various literary styles and directions), who used tremendous glory during his lifetime, was shortly after death for a long time devoted to oblivion. Only years later, the work of Leonid Andreev was again appreciated, and he rightfully took his place of honor in the pantheon of Russian literature of the 20th century
