Vladimir Orlov (1936–2014), a wonderful Russian writer, possessed a truly high creative gift. In his “Ostankino stories” Moscow at the end of the Soviet years-fussy, adventurous, noisy-transforms: some second layer always flickers behind the everyday confusion, the movement of invisible forces, universal energies. In the local orchestra, the place of the demon-musician, who from time to time entertains himself with a flight of lightning to the Ostankino tower (“Altist Danilov”), can turn out to be a slave of a bottle and Bereginya Lyubov Nikolaevna-arbitrarily, to her taste, she changes the life of those who were thrown away “Bubble” of citizens (“pharmacist”) The narrative is a light, full humor, the finest observations and thoughts, leaves an incomparable “aftertaste” with nothing, as if something melodically and quietly rang somewhere
