In Russian literature there was no more skillful master of allegory than grandfather of Krylov. Having combined the wisdom of Aesop and the sparkling syllable of Lafontaine in his style, Ivan Andreevich created an amazing collection of fables. Simple and elegant stories are understandable even to the child, but behind this lightness there is always subtext, a thin hint, understandable only a few. During his life, the writer created 198 fables, which even now, after 250 years since the author’s birth, continue to delight the ease of the syllable and the grace of hints.
The proposed edition included all the fables written by Ivan Andreevich Krylov. Each story is decorated with illustrations and is equipped with a detailed comment, thanks to which the fables known since childhood are already read completely differently
