The book for the first time is published more than 550 rarest photographs of officers, lower ranks, as well as photos of items (form, armament, dishes, documents, banners, engravings, paintings, prize Cups, awards, etc) from the collection of the museum in Kurbievua and his branch in Brussels (Belgium) Photos of several types of Life Cossack Klysi, as well as group photos of the officers of a large format regiment, are very interesting. All portraits are given in the appendix (which is in the museum) regiment commanders. Almost all photos of the regiment officers are identified, which allows you to join the life of the regiment, especially for the period of the reign of Emperors Alexander III and Nicholas II. The text of the book is written on the basis of the memories of the officers of the regiment of different eras and in combination with an illustrative material represents a brilliant, brave, charismatic world of the Russian Imperial Army, Don Cossacks and the left old Russia. Part of the material is dedicated to the life of Life Cossacks on a foreign land. The heads of the book are divided into reigns, starting with Catherine II and ending with emigration to the 30s.
