Comparing the changes that occurred in Hawaii and Russia over a century ago, the author speaks about the universal nature of political upheavals, their causes and consequences. To the Russian reader, unfamiliar with this remote corner of the Pacific Ocean, it will be interesting to learn about its history, which includes the names of our compatriots - travelers, adventurers, and statesmen.
