In 1949, four years after the victory, the book "Russian Bogatis" of the Leningrad Authors Irina Karnukhovaya and Nikolai Kochergin was published in Detgiz. The book has become a kind of literary monument to the soldier who won in the Great War. It is noteworthy that it was a children"s book.
Russian heroes had several editions, but there was not a single one that would adequately presented the unique illustration of Nikolai Kochergin to the epic texts. The autolithographs for the "Bogatyr" series are not very famous at all, they were published only once - in 1964 in the field workshops "artist RSFSR" by a circulation of only 500 copies
