This book is a fascinating artistic story about life, travels and the adventures of Herodota from Galicarnas, whom they call the "father of history. From it you will learn about the childhood and youth of the famous ancient Greek scientist, how he learned to know the world, as collected information for his historical works. Herodotus lived in the V century BC. e. And traveled a lot: I visited Malny Asia, Babylon, Fianch, Egypt, various cities of Balkan Greece, the Black Sea coast (to Olvia, now south of Nikolaev in Ukraine), where he collected information about Scythians. He described in detail the story of Greco-Persian wars, but he set his task to tell not only about hostilities, but also about the history of the peoples that participated in them. Collecting material for his work, Herodotus recorded what he saw himself, and the information that heard from local residents. He was interested in the recent events for his time and the distant past. It is thanks to him that we now know a lot about the nras and customs of the ancient Greeks, the peoples of the countries of the East and the south of our country
