A touching, childishly straightforward story about the days of the blockade - as seen by little Misha, who remained with his parents in besieged Leningrad, not only reveals to the reader the signs of the times and tells 'how it was', but also teaches to be strong: after all, not every day you get 'a very cute scarlet fever' or try to walk with crutches because you have a shrapnel wound. And, of course, to be proud of the real heroes: Misha's mother, who can defuse a bomb herself, or the policeman Ivan Fyodorovich Blinchik, who never leaves his post no matter what happens. And Misha himself and his friends, who decided to put on performances for wounded soldiers to support them - aren't they heroes?
