This guide for doctors is the first publication in the Russian Federation on the specified topics. The presentation of the main material is preceded by theoretical part necessary for understanding the molecular basis, in which the basics of erythropower, biology, biochemistry, clinical pathophysiology of red blood cells and its components (membrane, metabolic pathways, hemoglobin), as well as oxygen transport, genetic regulation and synthesis of globin and Membrane proteins. A special place is assigned to the structural and functional characteristics of hemoglobins, the exchange of iron, classifications, ethnogeography and the differential diagnosis of the most important hereditary hemolytic, polycythmical states and methemoglobinemium. In other parts of the manual, the clinical and preventive aspects of these groups of diseases are detailed, including medical and genetic counseling and prenatal diagnostics. Significant place is occupied by the treatment of diseases (hemotransphus, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, splentectomy, treatment of iron chelate, etc) and their complications.
