"I write 'Jews' in the plural form to indicate: under this name, I am not referring to the subject of politics (Zionism), religion (Judaism), or philosophy (Jewish thought). In quotation marks, to avoid confusing these 'Jews' with real Jews," - this is how Jean-François Lyotard, a French philosopher-postmodernist, began his work dedicated to the work of the great German thinker Martin Heidegger. Drawing on the analysis of Freudian concepts, Lyotard shows the extent of Heidegger's involvement in the realm of Nazism and, in connection with this, takes on the role of a 'diagnostician', sensitively responding to current issues. In the same vein, departing from classical philosophy and moving on to contemporary phenomena, Lyotard dissects the phenomenology of Husserl, who was an opponent of Heidegger.
