The fundamental problems arising from the use of cryogenic technologies in complex technical systems are considered. The results of comprehensive experimental studies on heat transfer and hydrodynamics during the cooling and start-up of liquid rocket engines and the storage of cryogenic media in booster tanks are presented. An analysis of key issues in the operation of hydrogen-oxygen cryogenic booster engine systems is carried out - the cooling and start-up of main liquid rocket engines. The processes of heat and mass transfer during non-stationary operations - cooling and start-up of main engines, including in conditions of weightlessness and during ground stand tests, are analyzed. The results of experimental studies on heat and mass transfer processes in pipes during phase transformations are analyzed. Methods of intensifying the cooling processes of engine systems using jet cooling systems, ring turbulators, low thermal conductivity coatings, heat exchange processes, and hydrodynamics in cryogenic booster tanks at various stages of flight are considered.
