Pepper Markish (1895-1952) - Jewish poet, playwright and novelist. In his poem"s "pile" (di coupe), first published on Idiš in 1922, eroded bitterness from the consequences of Jewish pogroms in Ukraine during the civil war. The Poem"s Poem, saturated with associative metaphors, expression, naturalism and tragic, mixed with sarcasm, became the central phenomenon of Jewish literature of the time
