The monograph is dedicated to the history and issues of healthcare in Russia. Using factual material, the author demonstrates how the healthcare system evolved during the tsarist era, developed in the USSR, and what it has become in modern Russia. The analysis revealed that our state significantly lags behind leading countries in the effectiveness of healthcare. Many factors contributed to this, such as changes in legislation, "optimization" (sharp reduction) of medical institutions, turnover of medical personnel due to low wages and declining professional prestige, and others. The monograph is intended for a wide range of readers.
