Ovidiy Aleksandrovich Gorchakov. A legendary Soviet intelligence officer, hero-saboteur, translator for Stalin and Khrushchev, writer, and screenwriter. The very military intelligence officer described by Julian Semenov in the story "Major Vihor," and even his other character Stirlitz borrowed some qualities from Gorchakov. "It was only at the beginning of 1942 that I managed to join the 'partisans' through the Komsomol line. But the 'partisans' turned out to be the top-secret intelligence of the Western Front, made famous by Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya," recalls Ovidiy Gorchakov. The intelligence-sabotage school was led by Artur Karlovich Sprogis, also known as Major "Arturo" in Spain and one of the heroes of Hemingway's novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls." The autobiographical story "He is also Corporal Woodstock" is more of a work of fiction than a documentary.
