For more than one and a half centuries, the Tales of Hans Christian Andersen is known all over the world and love. Among their fans was English Illustrator Arthur Rackham. Back in childhood, reading the book of a great storyteller, he dreamed of getting into those magic edges, where mermaids hide in the sea foam, in the hill, the Guests of the Forest King are drunk, where the toys and flowers come to life and even a snowman can love.
Many years later, when Racham grew up and became the famous artist, his dream came true: in 1931, starting to work on the illustrations of Andersen"s fairy tales, he visited the homeland of the writer in Denmark. Probably, this country really turned out to be magical for him, because the drawings of Rackham had accounted as accurately atmosphere of fairy tales, as if at home with tiled roofs, vintage castles and quiet farms told the artist all those wonderful stories that they were once told by the author
