This is the longest and most widely known gynecology textbook in the UK. The book was first published in 1919 under the name "Female Diseases from ten teachers" - 2 years after the publication of the textbook "Obstetrics from ten teachers". The current, seventeenth edition on the principles of evidence -based medicine considers the main issues of modern gynecological practice. The book was completely redesigned by the new composition of editors, which made information more accessible and corresponding to the progress of medical science and practice.
The modern treatment of violations of the menstrual cycle, infertility, as well as contraception methods are described. The issues of diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the ovaries, the body and cervix, as well as infections in gynecology are widely covered. Along with the preservation of the traditional structure of the textbook, new subsections are included - a short presentation, key points and illustrated clinical cases. In the Russian translation, on the one hand, it was possible to maintain the originality of the material, on the other, to adapt it in accordance with approaches in domestic gynecology
