Wilhelm Hauff lived only 25 years, but during his short life he managed to write, in addition to novels and stories, a multitude of delightful fairy tales. We read these stories about good and evil, passionate hearts and cold-heartedness, noble generosity and unprecedented greed with undiminished pleasure. Hauff's characters are so expressive, so vivid, that it is impossible not to relate them to our own lives, in which we find the same traits and similar fates. This book contains only three fairy tales, but after reading them, you will definitely want to get acquainted with other works of this remarkable writer.
