In the West, there is a cliché that the Second World War was a "war for American democracy." In the Baltic countries, the SS legionnaires are glorified, although the peoples of these countries were destined to play the role of faceless human material in the Hitlerian project. In the European Parliament and the Council of Europe, it is already openly stated that the war was fought between two predators for world domination, and for Eastern Europe, victory was not a victory, but a defeat. This book rebels against the current distortion of the main meaning of the Second World War - the greatest battle for the right of peoples to be the creators of their own history. The edition contains a revised and expanded edition of N.A. Narochnitskaya's book "Great Wars of the 20th Century," as well as a selection of documents from the pre-war, wartime, and very recent past, in which the reader will find evidence of the main conclusions of the book.
